A keen art student at school, Annie took up painting again in 2005, encouraged by her husband's gift of a desktop easel and a set of watercolour paints. Largely self-taught, Annie began art classes in 2011 when her tutor suggested she try acrylics instead. Inspired by her immediate love of the medium, Annie began to paint in earnest and believes she produces her best work when she has a strong personal involvement in and love of the subject. Indeed, most of the paintings reproduced here depict her memories of happy times spent in Colonsay with her family.

Alan always tried to encourage Annie to do more with her work than merely storing it behind the couch or under the bed! Better late than never, this website is dedicated to Alan's memory with love.
